Reduced Link Correlation Using Multiple Antennas

چکیده
High-frequency backscatter radio systems operate in the backscatter channel, a channel whose envelope probability density function (PDF) and bit-error-rate (BER) performance are strongly affected by the relationship between small-scale fading in the reader-to-tag and tag-to-reader propagation links – i.e., link correlation. This paper shows that backscatter radio systems using co-located reader transmitter and receiver antennas and a single RF transponder antenna can have the highest link correlation which results in the worst communication performance. It is shown that using separate reader antennas and multiple RF transponder antennas will decrease the detrimental effects of link correlation. Results show that if the correlation of the envelopes of the reader-to-tag and tag-to-reader propagation links is below approximately 0.6, near maximum backscatter communication performance can be achieved.

Conical Conformal Antenna Design using the CPM Method for MIMO Systems
Abstract- In this article, the design of conformal antennas has been discussed using the characteristic modes (CM) method. For this purpose, the vector wave function(VWF) has been utilized to achieve a two-dimensional mapping of the conformal antenna. In designing and analyzing of cone-shaped antennas applicable for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems, the most important goal is to achieve ...

Abstract—A key feature of upcoming 4G wireless communication systems is multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) technology. To make the best use of MIMO, the antenna correlation between adjacent antennas should be low (< 0.5). In this context, we propose a correlation reduction technique suitable for closely spaced antennas (distance, d < λ/40). This technique reduces mutual coupling between ante...
متن کاملReduced dimension space-time processing for multi-antenna wireless systems
The need for wireless communication systems has grown rapidly during the last few years. Moreover, there is a steady growth in the required data rates due to the fact that more and more users request high-bit-rate services. To meet those requirements, current and next-generation wireless systems and networks such as wireless LANs (e.g., IEEE 802.11a) will support much higher data rates compared...
متن کاملPower Distribution for Svd-aided Mimo Transmission with Receiver-side Antennas Correlation
Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems have influenced nearly any mobile communication standard. However, in many cases the theoretically possible potential can’t be reached since of the proximity of transmitter and receiver side antenna arrays. The phenomena called correlation affects the channel capacity and the link BER (biterror rate). Therefore in this paper receiver-side antennas c...
